Alexa Site Info

My first post was on the 17th July 2007 http://www.wypov.com/?p=8 so as of today, I have only been blogging for about a couple of weeks now. One of the first things I did was add an Alexa Site Info display in the side bar using the code from their website. As you can see as of today, there is no information as I am not yet in the top 100,000 sites. Sources like John Chow’s free E-book that you can view with Adobe reader (free download), recommend that when you first start it is best not to add these kind of site stats because if you do not have any data, it will put people off from returning to your site. If you are a bit like me (an instant information junky) I like to have these kind of things straight away to see the progress of my site, even if it is new or old (opps sorry an established) site.

So I am going away slightly from what the top bloggers are saying but hay sometimes you have to be different and unlike a lot of bloggers, I am not just in it for the money. I have always wanted to setup a website ever since I started using the Internet many years ago. I am just surprised to be honest that I did not do it sooner but better late than never as they say.

If you are interested I have added a link below (you can also click the Alexa stat display in the sidebar) that shows my website stats in more detail. There is not much to see at the moment but you never know it might change in the near future.

From what I have picked up it appears that you will see results after 3 months, only time will tell. I plan to release a post in 3 months (17th Oct 07) with my traffic data to see if this piece of information is true.
