Dumping BlogRush?
As a regular reader of www.johncow.com I came across an interesting post about during a site clean up they are dumping BlogRush.com. http://www.johncow.com/brushing-off-blogrush/. To be honest I have been toying with the same idea for a while now but I have always delayed doing this as I find myself saying things like, give it a bit more time and see what happens. This reaction by johncow.com appears to be a growing trend and I keep thinking is BlogRush just another fad? I am still at the moment undecided. I am in the process of making a couple of changes to the blog and maybe it might get dumped as part of that update.
Update: Well I went and did it I dumped BlogRush sooner than I thought I would. I have replaced it with http://entrecard.com/. This is a mixture of traffic generation and advertising. They do not have a referral system as they view this as "pyramid scheme". They want people to recommend them for the value of their service they provide and not for personal gain, like other systems.
I am still in the process of reviewing them and I will let you know how it goes. Do you have any experience with entrecard.com?
I have also dumped www.brandmyblog.com as it did not do a single thing and it also did not appear to update at all.

Thanks for your comments americahugs I will remove the registration requirement to leave comments. I was using it mostly to avoid spam but I have now added antispam plugins.

First off, I’d get rid of your registration requirement to comment on your blog. Entrecard is better than ANY social blog network I have used, and Entrecarders love to leave comments so make it easy for them. I have used Spicepage(absolutely zero traffic), MyBlogLog( about 20 visits this week), BlogCatalog(10 visits), and Entrecard(360 visits). My blog is only a week old. Also I’ve been lucky enough to be stumbled a couple times so my total traffic for the week is about 600 visits.
