Add an extra large RRS Icon to your blog
Read an article about how if you have a large RSS feed button you attract more readers to subscribe to your blog. So with this in mind I have change my icon. You can see the results at the top of the sidebar.
I got the following RRS icons from http://www.flickr.com under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 where you can use the icon but you must give the original author credit for the work.
I really like the last one, its nice and bright, clear and smooth.
To change your RSS icon you first have to upload the image onto your server via a FTP. I use FileZilla its free, you can get a free download from Filehippo here : http://www.filehippo.com/download_filezilla/
The best place to put it is in your domain root directory. Next you locate the following piece of code (mine is in the sidebar) and it looks like this:
<a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/wypov/AqHZ" title="Subscribe to my feed" rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml"><img src="http://www.feedburner.com/fb/images/pub/feed-icon32×32.png" alt="" style="border:0"/></a><a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/wypov/AqHZ" title="Subscribe to my feed" rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml">Subscribe in a reader</a>
You need the change http://www.feedburner.com/fb/images/pub/feed-icon32×32.png to http://www.yoursitename.com/xxxx.xxx (where xxxx is the image name and xxx is the extension) and thats all there is to it.
You can get lots more RRS icons in http://www.flickr.com by clicking the box "
